Increase sales by making your marketing actually work.
You need to increase sales to grow your business. However, when you run a marketing campaign, it doesn't deliver as promised.
We have been told marketing is a cost of doing business. This misconception has led to a mindset of how much is this campaign going to cost.
This has been reinforced by seeing less than stellar results from marketing that doesn’t work for you.
“Half the money I spend on advertising is wasted; the trouble is I don’t know which half.”
John Wanamaker
Unfortunately, I talk with business owners all the time that wish they were wasting only half of their marketing budget.
Convert your marketing from a cost into a profit center.
Once you understand buyer psychology and what it takes to engage them successfully, your mindset changes. You start seeing how much money you’re making with each and every campaign. You begin to realize you can increase sales by generating high-quality leads whenever you want and converting them into paying customers.
If you handed me $100 and I gave you $1,000, how often would you want to do that deal?
I help business owners break the cycle of steady growth—or no growth—and boost their success exponentially.
Are you able to increase sales with your current marketing efforts?
See if the following sounds familiar. If it does, keep reading for how I will help you achieve monumental success.
You’re doing what all the marketing wizards say, but…
You built a website, but you’re not seeing the traffic you thought you would—and it’s definitely not generating the number of qualified, interested leads you hoped it would bring.
Perhaps you tried SEO to get ranked high in the search engines to drive more traffic, but the sales you expected never really materialized.
You’re using some mix of email, direct mail, social media, Google Ads, digital ads, magazine ads, newspaper ads, radio, billboards, trade shows, events, television and other channels to increase sales.
If you’re lucky, you feel like you’re doing pretty good because you’re making enough in sales to cover your investment plus a little extra to reinvest in further growth or push to the bottom line.
If you’re like the majority of businesses, you’re barely breaking even or losing money on the deal. You’ve probably been conditioned to believe that’s okay.
“Losing money on marketing is the cost of doing business.”
“Companies have to go through this—sometimes for years—to grow their way to being profitable.”
Why everything you’ve heard about marketing your business doesn’t work!
There are a lot of reasons your marketing isn’t generating the return you need, but let’s talk about four of the main ones.
"Same As" Syndrome
With everyone using the same playbook, everyone starts to look and sound the same as everyone else in their industry.
Google an industry like attorneys, roofing contractors, pool builders, accountants—or even your own—then look at the websites you find.
In most cases you can switch the names on each site and never know the difference, other than colors and images. However, in many verticals, even the colors and images are very similar.
Company-focused messaging
To make matters even worse, the language generally focuses on how great the company is—and what they sell—instead of what the customer wants.
You see platitudes like:
- Professional
- Detail-oriented
- Experienced
- Honest
- Hard-working
- We get the job done on time
- We focus on your satisfaction
- We are proud to serve you
Most of these fall under the category of “well, I would hope so”. People already expect the companies they do business with to live up to these statements, and when everyone is repeating them, they become virtually meaningless.
Drowned out by the noise
The marketplace has become supersaturated with over 100,000 marketing messages bombarding each of us every week. At the same time, our attention span has fallen to eight seconds and continues to drop.
We have learned to tune out those repetitive messages hyping the greatness of a company, product or service.
Tactical marketing vs strategic marketing
Most vendors today are pushing tactical marketing instead of strategic marketing.
In simplest terms, strategic marketing is what you say, and tactical marketing is where you say it.
You get calls all the time from people selling the value of Facebook ads, Google Adwords, running an ad on their website or in their magazine or newspaper, etc., but they want you to say what you usually say—just on their platform.
If your message isn’t working in other channels, it probably won’t work in theirs either.
A different approach
I focus on a strategic marketing instead of tactical because what you say is far more important than where you say it. Developing the right messaging and implementing the right strategies are the keys to your exponential growth.
Understanding your company
Every business is different. I deliver a marketing marketing program customized specifically for your industry and particularly for your unique company.
In order to accomplish this, the first thing I do with my small business clients is take a deep dive into your company. products and services. We look at where you make the most profit and what are biggest challenges you face.
We also examine what you’re doing for marketing and lead generation (both currently and in the past) to determine what has worked, what hasn’t and why.
Define your best customers
Customers are the lifeblood of any business, and they must be the focus of all of your marketing.
In order to reach them and connect with them, you MUST know exactly who they are. What do they like and dislike? What are their goals and desires? What are the problems that keep them up at night?
We will identify your best (most profitable) customers for each of your products and develop a profile that will drive all your marketing efforts going forward.
In some cases we may find more than one customer type wants your product. We will build a unique profile for each.
Craft a market-dominating message
Now that we know who we are speaking to, we can create a message that is so compelling it will cut through the clutter and grab their attention. It will immediately address their wants and needs then educate them about why they would be crazy to do business with anyone but you.
Finally it will provide them a low risk/no risk way to interact with you and begin a conversation without fear of being “sold” before they are ready.
Capture low-hanging fruit
Once we have our compelling message, we will deploy it to those customers who have the most immediate need to begin driving revenue quickly. This quick increase in sales will start to bend your growth curve up substantially.
Continue seizing market share
We will also put strategies in place that will kickstart lead generation funnels that will, over time, begin delivering a steady stream of business every year.
Now that your revenue is in high growth mode, we can also start to explore and exploit other less pursued and untapped areas to boost your sales even further.
Market-dominating growth is simple
Bending the growth curve up exponentially is a simple process. Keep in mind, simple is not the same thing as easy.
It requires a commitment to implement the necessary changes to your company, but the rewards are well worth the effort.
Exponential growth is life-changing. It can free you up to pursue other priorities once you know your business will take care of you, your family and your employees financially as long as you continue executing these powerful marketing strategies.
